Bronx Chapter Holds Successful Event at Manhattan College Focusing on the Current Power Needs of New York State

Bronx Event2The NYSSPE Bronx Chapter hosted a very successful event at Manhattan College this past Monday evening.  The topic of the event was the current power needs in New York and topics covered included: current and future power demands, alternative energy sources, the smart grid and its impact on our future, and an interesting presentation on the Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant which explained in detail how the plant functions.

The meeting was well attended and at the beginning of the meeting our Executive Director Anthony Fasano, PE and PEC Chair Rudi Sherbansky, PE presented the Manhattan college engineering students with awards which they recently won at the PEC engineering project contest at the Lower Hudson Valley Engineering EXPO.

Overall it was a great event on interesting topics with an audience of varied ages and experience levels.
